Your support helps BC children develop literacy skills that benefit them for a lifetime.

Over 1 million children in Canada need stronger literacy skills – a number that continues to grow through the COVID-19 pandemic.

8 year-old Marie is one of the young students who explored a passion for reading in our virtual literacy program this year.

“Marie doesn’t like to read out loud with me, but with her tutor, Susan, she is different. Through her tutor’s encouragement, she reads with so much expression and emphasis. It’s wonderful to see her connect so well with her tutor over a screen!”

– Pascale, Marie’s mother

This holiday season, we are asking our community help us raise $50,000 by December 31 to Bring Reading Home so we can double the number of students supported in our virtual literacy programs next year.

With your support, we can make sure that children like Marie aren’t left behind by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Donations by cheques are also appreciated. Please direct any donations through cheque to:

This holiday season, we would like to invite you to help us raise $50,000 in our winter campaign – Bringing Reading Home – a nod to the learning that is happening inside of students homes, made possible by new virtual literacy programs.

Literacy tutoring is all about the one-to-one connection and how it fosters growth in literacy skills and confidence. We have found that the same one-to-one connection is possible through virtual tutoring – and with the added convenience of accessing it from home!

To join in the movement of #GivingTuesday, from November 30 until December 7, the impact of your gift will also be tripled, thanks to the generosity of our matching donors – The Collings Stevens Family Foundation and The Francis Family Foundation. That means that each donation, up to the first $20,000, will have triple the impact and help three times the number of children.
