Mission and History

Our Mission

We envision a world where all BC children are inspired and engaged life-long learners.

Through one-to-one connections, we help BC children develop literacy skills and reading confidence.

Celebrating 35 Years

Our unique program began 35 years ago in one Vancouver school and has grown exponentially.

The ONE TO ONE literacy program began in 1989 as a collaboration between the Vancouver School Board and the Junior League of Greater Vancouver. Since that time, we’ve helped over 20,000 students grow into thriving readers.
