✅ How to Set Up the BC Services Card App and Verify Your Identity
Step 1: Download the BC Services Card App
- Go to the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
- Search for “BC Services Card”.
- Download and install the official BC Services Card Mobile App on your phone.
Step 2: Launch the App and Start Setup
- Open the app on your phone.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to add your physical BC Services Card to the app.
- This process will create a “mobile card”, which is a secure digital version stored on your phone.
Step 3: Complete Identity Verification (One-Time Security Check)
To activate your mobile card, you must verify your identity. You have two options:
Option A: Verification by Video Upload
- Use the app to record a short video of yourself as instructed.
- Submit the video through the app.
- You’ll receive an email confirmation once your identity is verified.
Option B: Verification by Live Video Call
- Choose the video call option in the app.
- Before the call:
- Take a clear photo of yourself using the app.
- Make sure you’re in a quiet, well-lit place.
- Wait a few minutes for a Service BC Agent to start the video call.
- During the call, the agent will verify your identity in real-time.
Step 4: Use Your Mobile BC Services Card
- Once verification is complete, your mobile card will be activated.
- You can now use it to:
- Log into government websites securely.
- Access various provincial services online.
- You will not need to reverify your identity again for most services.
