And what a night it was! Thank you so much for joining us at A Night for the Books, ONE TO ONE Literacy’s inaugural trivia fundraiser. It was a resounding success, with our gracious host venue East Van Brewing bursting at the seams with trivia buffs, literacy supporters, community partners, volunteer tutors, and bookworms alike.
We’d like to thank our host, Amanda Adams, and our prize donors Capilano Suspension Bridge, Bard on the Beach, and Boom! Pro Wrestling for making this event one to write home about! Some of our amazing tutors and community partners supported us beyond expectation, either by attending the event or by helping us spread the word. We are so grateful!
We’re almost there!
We are thrilled that we raised $3,178 at our event! That leaves us just $322 shy of our $3,500 fundraising goal. Do you know a trivia buff, book lover or all-round good person that wished they were there? Let them know that they can still contribute to a great cause.
Congratulations to our winners!

We were so impressed by everyone’s trivia prowess, spirit for fun, and competitive edge. We even had an eager participant break out a calculator to count the number of pages in the 7 Harry Potter books to help settle a 3-way tie for third place. So not only was this an event for fans of literacy, but numeracy and wizardry as well. Everyone who attended was a winner in our hearts, even though only three teams could be crowned.
We are excited about planning our next night to remember and look forward to seeing you there. Thank you again for your support!
