On Wednesday, May 30, ONE TO ONE Literacy Society supporters came together for some friendly early-morning competition, all in the name of supporting children’s literacy! We laughed, we cried, we spelled—and raised a record-breaking over $65,000! These funds will be used to expand and enhance our programming across the Lower Mainland and reduce wait times at our existing program schools. (Want to relive the action? CBC’s On the Coast produced a fun feature about the Spelling Bee! Click here and fast-forward to 3:40 to listen.)

Congratulations to our champion spellers:

First Place: The Glen Group BMO Nesbitt Burns
Second Place: Harper Grey LLP
Third Place: The Glen Group (Nick’s Bee Group)

There was a three-way tie in the individual spelling challenge! Congrats to Mary Humphries, Frans Lotz and Julie Backer!

As always, thank you to everyone who has participated in this year’s Spelling Bee—your time and generosity will change the lives of thousands of struggling young students in your community next year!

A special thanks to our sponsors:
