Phone orientation

Once you have submitted your online application, we will schedule a 15-minute phone orientation. This is an opportunity for us to get to know you, and for you to learn more about our program.

Apply for a criminal record check

You can apply online for a free criminal record check through the Ministry of Justice with our access code: AJK5NUBK4H

Or you can bring your government photo ID to a training session. We will have paper forms as available and can coordinate a way to get the forms to you.

A criminal record check can take a couple of months to process, and this step must be completed before you can volunteer with ONE TO ONE. It is a good idea to get started as soon as possible.

Attending a training session

Once you have completed your phone orientation, you will receive an email inviting you to an upcoming tutor training session. Please note: We do not hold training sessions during the summer months.
