The 2019-2020 year was one unlike any other experienced in ONE TO ONE’s 30 year past.
We celebrated the dedication of thousands of literacy tutors who have helped ONE TO ONE impact the lives of over 20,000 students before all our lives shifted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We were unsure of when we would return and it was difficult to have our students say goodbye to their tutors early, especially as we knew that the burden on young readers would only grow. But with the support of our community we found new ways to encourage our vulnerable young readers. We began delivering new literacy tools to support children and families who needed us and started to reconnect tutors and students in virtual programming.
